The Desert Bar

On May 18, 2012 we visited Emerald Cove Resort on the Colorado River.  It's located just across the river from Parker, Az.  We have stayed here several times and I wanted to share some pictures of this desert bar in the middle of the desert.  You must drive to this bar about 5 miles down a rutted dirt road in the middle of nowhere.  This restaurant and bar is located completely off the grid and is completely self contained with electric solar panels which provide all its power needs.  They also have fresh drinking water which is either delivered by truck or well.  They are closed all summer due to the high temperatures from the day after Memorial Day through Labor Day.  Week ends have live entertainment October through April.  People come here to party and from the people we talked to they come from all over the country.  The first picture is the entrance to the Bar.  The second picture is a picture of the womens restroom from the backside.  The women have a great view of the surrounding desert from their wash basin.
